She's Not Me 03:23
She's not me and maybe that's the point I'm a brown like you and she's a blue She dyes and paints and fusses and I'm just me I am what you see And from what I can observe You're just not ready to live the life I offer Brilliant, dangerous, unsure She's not me And maybe that's the point She captures the innocence of which you've always fantasized of gaining, of corrupting I capture the experience of which you've always envied of living But only dreaming You loved me for me but wanted me as her You loved me for me but from what I can observe From what I can observe You're just not ready to live the life I offer Brilliant, dangerous, unsure She's not me And maybe that's the point

I don't shake too easy I don't stand too still I know every moment isn't as hard as the kill Yeah you could walk beside me I guess for a while But if I grow tired of you I'll just toss you aside Where do you go down the road? Are your enemies constantly changing, Sold? I wish I had a reason I wish I had a right Guess it's not in season I'll just put it aside Oh no, was that you When I was shaking in boots of leather steel-toed, dull with chagrin? Where do you go down the road? Are your enemies constantly changing? Hold I hate it when you're cold It's unknown but it grows in my gut and throat I'm hardly hanging on My escape is a heart from my own soul

When I read your mind I was pulled into a state of truth A longing for the youth I've left behind As the days unwind I can slip into a point of view The mystery I never thought to find Ooo One haunting night With no explanation for the ruse No explanation for the pain inside You can't make things right If you run away if you refuse Acceptance isn't putting on a smile Ba da dum bum bum Ba da dum bum Ooo Ooo It won't fade with time But if you're lucky you'll go deaf Cause blind you see it clear Behind your eyes And you can mime But underneath your shell is left A spectre holding hope Inside the lie Ba da dum bum bum Ba da dum bum Ooo Ooo Where are you going? What are you throwing away? It's the same thing you've always wanted Welcomed by your vices each and every day What's the cost of living? On the outside Looking in Ba da dum bum bum Ba da dum bum Ooo Ooo

To Tune 03:14
A caterwaul A wail not stopping A siren growing strong Lights popping And matching this is your song Lopping along Melody somewhere growing A stillness blesses once Our meeting The stillness passed Moment Fleeting And hatching this is your song Lopping along Melody somewhere growing One by one we Slowly fumbling Shaky reaching Humbly bear our souls For you for leeching Pierced through the air A bullet streaking The wind it makes a tone Shoots a feeling And happening is your song Flowing along Melody lightly flooding One by one we Slowly fumbling Shaky reaching Humbly bear our souls For you for leeching

Where do you go When everything works out? I hit the road Find out what life is about You know it's not that easy though No not anymore You can't just pick up and go When you're stuck And you're bored Tough I must just throw it all away And save it for another me Maybe seeing Little dreams inside my eyes Has destroyed My sense of reality So what do you know There goes life turning round But here comes that road With the fork and the choice Of which to go down You know it's not that easy no Not when there's consequence Both ways My feet below me start to go While my mind Starts to stray Tough I must just throw it all away And save it for another me Maybe seeing Little dreams inside my eyes Has destroyed My sense of reality

about

Dara Eagle Brooklyn, New York

I don't like to stick to one instrument in my songwriting because each one has something different to offer a song. When I was a kid I took piano lessons & started writing on that, as a teenager added guitar then switched over to it for a while, I picked up the ukulele one year & couldn't put it down. I picked back up my middle school trumpet. I have a viola around I'll get to one of these days... ... more
